Fans crossing the line

In this day and age you hear more and more about fans crossing the line with athlete, celebrities, or anyone in the public eye. What amazes me is that some people I personally know act like this is something new. What is sad is that some fans do not stop with the one they are verbally attacking but continue towards their loved ones. As a fan you have the right to not like someone’s movie or song or their play in a certain sport and even have the right to voice your disdain. No matter what you don’t have the right to threaten that individual or their loved ones and if you do it should be a punishable offense. These individuals in the spotlight chose to be in that spotlight because of a gift that they were given whether it is athletic, acting, whatever it may be and most are making more money than most of us will ever see. So they need to remember we as fans have the right to jeer or cheer them for their efforts but no one has the right to threaten them or their loved ones. Sometimes we as fans need a reminder of those very lines that sometime get skewed because of raw emotio.
